i prayed that they were both sleeping. it had been four days & at the exact time that i should have been passing through albuquerque on my way to oklahoma, i was still home…with two sick littles…all packed up, with no where to go…

it started sunday night. shortly before bedtime, i came around the corner to see what harper was crying about. she was alone in the toyroom…and totally freaking out. i was greeted in the entry by harper…with yuck dripping down her face & dress. it was the first time she’d ever thrown up & she was completely terrified. i guess if i were her age & spontaneously combusting i too would be hugely freaking out! it continued: dry heaving…barfing…laying on the kitchen floor…going through pj after pj…warm showers followed by a warm bath…wrapped in towels…laying on the floor blankly staring at the tv…screaming “help me” because of stomach cramps…forcing meds into her mouth…gatorade…begging her to drink something…lollipops…ice pops…french fries…a visit to uncle/dr. dave…laundry…snuggling…pushing away…diarrhea…diaper change after diaper change…baby powder…aquafor…i slept on her floor…she was pathetic…i just prayed it would stop. for two & a half days we watched her every second…thankfully she stopped oozing things & is bouncing around as if nothing was ever wrong.
it was a pathetic display of illness for several days…
then…on the morning of preschool thanksgiving, which i was much more excited about than i would expect any normal, loving mommy would be…i got a call from olivia’s teacher…she had just thrown up in the bathroom at school…here we go again…
my poor babies…
i finally resigned myself to the fact that we were not going anywhere & unpacked everything saturday…
update…harper, then livi, then andrew all had it…thankfully i was spared…knock on wood!!!
