last month, when i was in the denver area for a week, i met up with jake & annie. they were up there for the summer while annie recorded her new album in boulder…it’s called “june”…it’s going to be amazing! i can’t wait to rock out to it!
jake & annie are so cool! they are both artists and extremely talented in many different genres: music…painting…drawing…graphic design…photography…they can pretty much do it all!
it makes my day when couples have chemistry like this…
there was something awkward & wonderful about this shot, all three of us love it but we don’t know why…

before shopping one morning mumsy, livi, & i had this conversation:
mumsy:”livi what would you like to get” livi:”i want an umbrella!” me:”like mine?” livi:”yes” me:”well, go tell mumsy that you’d like to get a burberry umbrella” livi:”mumsy, i want a burberry umbrella!” mumsy:”you do! well, go tell your mom that you need a job” livi:”mommy, i need a job!” 08/09

hi all! i am back and working away:
editing setting up viewing galleries getting christmas card designs finalized
researching for my TWO destination weddings coming up
taking livi to dance setting up to host our house church this week
finally getting the passports sent off in completion
unpacking laundry planning september-december ordering gear
waiting for my toiletry bag to arrive, it was shipped home because it made my bag over the 50lb weight limit and they wanted $125 extra otherwise
reflecting on life with our first furry child that was put down this morning-love you mckinley, good-bye sweet girl
thankful for time with my friends & mumsy when we were home getting my HUGE new imac all set up and calibrated so that i can work on my images
chatting with a bride that i can’t wait to meet looking forward to company this weekend
getting invoices, client packets, and registry gift notices out designing a gift for mumsy figuring out train, car, air travel in europe
so yes, a lot on my plate & i’m feeling a bit scattered, but i’m thrilled to be back and working! travel with the girls was amazingly easy…livi loves to fly! looking forward to meeting up with friends and clients soon! i love our friends! they are like family, thank goodness!

and the winner is………………well, not me, but it was a cool photo so i’m happy for the winner of the star shooter contest! if you don’t remember what i’m talking about go to the original post here! of course it’s always nice to win, but in this case i’m super excited to have gotten an honorable mention! my photo ‘cry baby’ got an honorable mention-not bad to have made the list since they had 198 photo submission! i don’t enter a lot of contests and i do not feel like i’m a very competitive person in general! i like it when we can all work hard, do our best and just all get along! ok, so when i was big time into running i would push myself to the verge of throwing up just to pass the few people a few seconds in front of me, but otherwise i’m not super competitive! i think it evokes an air of thinking we’re better than someone else and i am adamantly against such thoughts! so, congratulations to the winner of the awesome prize, the other winners, all my fellow honorable mentions and all the kiddos that will be getting a camera to express themselves! i mean after all the contest is about the kiddos, so anything for them feels like a win! to see all of the winning and honorable mention photos you can go here.

“mmm, those mashed potatoes are scrumptious! my tummy wants more of that!”-08/09 as i was making steak, mashed potatoes, and watermelon for dinner. then she proceeded to take the bowl of my kitchen aid & a large spoon and sit on the kitchen floor to eat the rest as if it were cake batter-she fed a few bites to harper, so sweet!
