than to receive…giving a village fresh, clean water is way better than giving a random, lame gift that someone doesn’t need! i can’t imagine needing water…no well?…noel…’tis the season

here’s part 3…the wedding lasted from 1pm-9pm, so it would have been too short to squeeze 12 hours of images into one or two posts! the bride & groom images are definitely another favorite part of weddings for me! i sent everyone away & worked with just the newlyweds, we had so much fun…
jen really loves, and is loved by, her girlfriends…her bridesmaids were lovely & made me feel right at home…plus they’re shoes were so cute…

ready for part 2…here’s the ceremony…
robert is from the states and jen is from the uk. i anticipated the differences in what a wedding there would be like & it was awesome! they had a worship service to kick off their celebration and everyone rocked out…

well, i was freaking out thinking i’ve been hacked…i made someone mad…something terrible is happening! and after a bit of research & a super helpful tech guru friend i learned that these things happen frequently, and for no specific reason…my facebook account has been temporarily disabled! so no, i did not delete you or block you…it’s just down! and i might have to start all over again with my page and my fan page, but it could be worse! i’ve read that it can take facebook up to 3 weeks to reinstate an account…although they say my fan page is up, but i cannot access it…urgh!!! so, if you stop by once i’m back on facebook please send me another friend request and be a fan again! i hate losing contact with everyone…and i really like facebook! blessings, js

Brilliant!December 18, 2009 – 1:13 am
prepare yourselves for the longest posts ever…you’ve officially been warned…
i NEVER wanted to be a wedding photographer! my passion is with families, newborn babies, mommies, and photojournalism…like tammy! when i started studying photography two years ago i JUST wanted to work with families! the very idea of photographing a wedding was terrifying & nauseating…no thank you! then, i keep learning, practicing, and talking with my awesome mentor-hollib. her work inspires me to work with couples, brides, and to do weddings…yikes! she is such a pro and her work is constantly amazing! so i started thinking about it, and then i went to second shoot a wedding with her and follow her on bridals…it was SO FUN!!! and then i was hired to second shoot for another photographer…to assist her at her weddings. it’s really fun to work with other photographers! to assist them, learn from one another, use ALL of my cool gear! i started wondering if i could handle it…could I do weddings? i have all the gear, and the back-up equipment that is essential when capturing someones big day. do i want to do weddings? do i want to spend eight hours at a wedding and then spend 3 hours/hour i spent there editing…that’s 24 hours of editing per average wedding if you didn’t do the math!!! hmmm…what to do?! i decided i’d ease my way into it…my girls are young and i do not want to spend every weekend away from my family even if there are beautiful brides & delicious cakes included. i decided i would put myself out there, and if someone was crazy enough to hire me i’d be crazy enough to go for it…i heart craziness…i got to photograph my first solo wedding in england…
so come on ya’ll, it’s time to get hitched…
the morning of robert & jen’s wedding was gorgeous & sunny! i sat next to the window of our b&b with my family, looked out the window as i enjoyed my “full english” breakfast & french pressed coffee and thought to myself, “this is a beautiful day for a wedding! the outdoor photos are going to be a-ma-zing!” about an hour later the typical november rain moved in and progressed for the rest of the day! i knew we could make it work…and boy did we, see…
