hello, again!

to say that too much time has passed since i have blogged would be an understatement! so, hello again! i’m here… breaking radio silence!

it has been the busiest season of my life- personally & work wise! 2011 was amazing… and i am so excited & shocked that it is already february 2012 actually!

since i last had a chat with you i traveled to the middle east, attended a career changing workshop, spent christmas with my family in oklahoma, put our wonderful home on the market & moved to downtown durango, bought land with mountain views & decided to build a house, worked with an amazing company to do a complete re-brand, attended the national prayer breakfast, & made some blissfully challenging business decisions that are already making my life so much easier! you’ll have to wait until my new branding reveal to get the full scoop, but here’s a hint- i’m putting all of my efforts into what is real! this year will bring about some wonderful changes… i love change!!! so, hopefully now that we’re settled into our 100+ yr old home downtown & getting my ducks back in a row i will catch you up on what & whom i have been shooting, what i’ve been doing, & i’ll even tell you all about how i’ve spent sleepless nights wondering if i have what it takes to be the mom i want to be in this crazy world of travel + photography! this year promises to have an overdose of home building/interior design posts too… thanks to my interior designer Becca our new home will be smartly dressed & well thought out!

until then, please pray that our house sells & keep your fingers crossed that 3 whole months don’t go by before i sit down to get some blogging done! i have missed you all! i feel so blessed… i love this sweet life of mine!

this is where i had planned on posting a big, huge PERU blog… that will unfortunately have to wait, sorry! i have very thankfully been super busy with life & work since returning from PERU, and since my time off is officially starting about a week after i return from a major thanksgiving trip i will have PLENTY of time to share PERU with you… and i, myself have really been looking forward to a long day of hot coffee & peppermint oreos & re-living the amazing experience with the unforgettable people there! it was incredible & i am praying to go back!!!

so, while you wait, just think of my making 26 hr trans-atlantic trips with these wild littles… it too will be amazing… JORDAN here we come… HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

on our last family trip to denver i had the chance to photograph sweet baby hudson when he was just about one-week-old. andrew went to law school with ~~ken & barbie~~, jen & heath… we have always loved them & we always try to see them when we’re in the front range! jen is gorgeous and even sweeter than she is tall… and this barbie is seriously 6ft tall! love her! i’ve known heath just about as long as i’ve know andrew… heath is a very sweet guy! we were so happy when they started dating… they make a perfect, shiny match! i cannot wait to watch them raise this precious bundle!

heath painted all of the art in hudsons room… what a sweet daddy!

i cannot write a post about neil & linda without telling you 3 things about them… 1) we went on their first date with them many years ago in oklahoma 2) she can quote more movies than anyone i know- if i say something super random to everyone else, she always know what i’m talking about 3)they are my littles God-parents, so they’re pretty important to us…

neil & linda are some of the best people anyone could know… when that little one arrives we are going to spoil her to bits!

we have been thrilled to await the arrival of their little bundle… i expect a call any minute that she is officially on her way!

neil. linda. – we cannot wait to meet your little bundle! olivia is ready to give her a dolly, harper is ready to give her a kiss, andrew & i are ready to tell her all about your antics! we love you guys!

holiday deadlines…

hi friends! are you ready for christmas… every store on earth sure is, ALREADY!

i have about 3 slots left this season for sessions or mini-sessions… if you’re a “last-minute-booker” you’d better get on the horn & schedule it before i close up shop for the winter! i am unavailable during thanksgiving AND christmas this year… i am excited to be spending them both with friends & family from all over the world! if you’re thinking of doing a “fun family snow session” better call me asap! i take off from 12/4-3/1 and when i say that i’m closed i mean NO SESSIONS at all! it’s a family time that i’ve committed to & a fabulous time for me to review, revise, & revamp my business plans for the upcoming year! i love my work… and i love my time off!

prints & products order deadline is 12/9!

album orders that are started now & complete by 12/9 will be ready by valentines day!

mother nature really messed with my group mini-sessions this year… both sets of them got rescheduled due to inclement weather! fortunately, all of the families are amazing & we rescheduled them for a day when it would hopefully not be 20 degrees outside & sleeting. i love a mini-session because some families just want a photo, literally one photo, for their holiday card… and i want that too, so i respect that! so, for couples &/or families that aren’t ready to fully commit to the real-life session, a mini-session is just the thing to capture them! plus, it’s a quick 30 minutes of mostly posing, so it’s totally painless for your significant other…and trust me, my significant other hates being photographed more than any husband out there! this family however, made my job so fun & easy… and danny never complained once, way to go buddy!…

jill will never admit it, but i’m convinced that this “big smile, excited, almost screaming” face that her littles make is hereditary… love it!!!danny. jill. edie. owen. – you guys are the cutest! thank you for being such good sports on a very cold morning! happy holidays everyone!

say hello to gary & allyson! these two are kind of the definition of adorable… go look it up, there’s a photo of them, i’m just sure of it! gary is a pilot for a very schmancy airline & allyson kicks butt at all outdoor sports… they’re a killer duo! their littles are going to have dark brown hair, huge smiles & perfect teeth, but let’s talk wedding first! when i first heard from allyson about working with them i was thrilled to hear that she was marrying gary… he’s nice, we like him a lot at our house! allyson is one of those endlesslessly sweet people that literally cannot not smile & brings you sonic drinks to photo shoots… she too will be a favorite at our house! congratulate gary & allyson… they’re getting married in mexico in april!
