pearl izumi syncrofloat iv

after years of laziness & ITB issues, i’ve gotten the motivation to run again!  my besties have been running & decided to do the steamworks 1/2 marathon & i finally sucked it up & decided to join them.  i have always been a brooks runner, but i’m loving these pearl izumi’s… and it doesn’t hurt that they’re pink!  my favorite new kicks are making getting back into running a lot more comfortable… i love them!

kenzie. :birth:

years ago, before andrew & i were even married, we went on a double-date with neil & linda.  it was their first date, we all went bowling… they’ve been together ever since!  less than a year later they were married, and when we moved to durango they helped us drive all of our things here & move in.  6 months after we landed in this little mountain town, they moved here too.  it is such a blessing to have friends that have seen you through so many milestones in life, and i have been really blessed to be there for this huge milestone in theirs!

neil. linda. kenzie. – i cannot tell you how amazing it was to be there for the birth of your precious daughter!  it was worth the drive, being up late, & waiting impatiently for the news that she was coming.  we love you guys!  we are so happy that she’s here!

fun mommy tip #12

i make at least 7 lunches/week!  olivia takes her lunch to school almost everyday & harper takes hers twice/week, because she only has school twice/week!  if your littles are anything like my littles they love to snack, and in the whirlwind of life with over-involved littles we are endlessly grabbing snacks & heading out the door.   for so long i felt like i was constantly sending plastic baggies out the door & watching so many of those cute, little snack baggies go to waste… not anymore!  i finally wised up and got those little beauties…

these are ReSnackit bags & we LOVE them!!!  there are so many fun sizes & colors & patterns (and yes, boy colors too), so if you’re a crazy person like me you can match them all in the lunch box… yes, i just admitted to doing that!  no, i’m not embarrassed about it!  we use the double-pouch for a juice box & snack, the sandwich size, and tons of the snack size.  they’re lined so their pbj won’t get all over the rest of their lunch, have velcro closure, & are machine washable-a must!  (just toss them in with a load of towels.)  now you don’t have to be a maniac and embarrass your husband by washing those ziplocs- you know who you are!  get these…all the fun mommy’s are doing it!

DISCLAIMER (because my hubby is a lawyer): my advice is simply that!  it’s not sound medical advice or approved by anyone else but me!  you should really ask your doc, midwife, local pd, dog catcher, fish hatchery, lactation consultant, fireman, meter maid, or someone else you trust before just doing what i say-unless you’re olivia or harper lynn!

Fabulous! Ordering them now!

i heart… pinterest.

gone are the days of piles of magazine tears & stacks of “to make” recipes… we’ve got pinterest for that now!  it’s a great little one stop shop for inspiration & ideas on anything from building a house to what’s for dinner… i made two recipes that i found on pinterest this week!  and, scouring it for ideas for our new home is my latest obsession… i’m going to have to start dividing up the home category!  i love using it to get ideas for making crafts with my littles too… the inspiration is endless!  if you’re not pinning, stop by & see what all the fuss is about… and if you are, PLEASE share the love & tell me who i should be following!

happy pinning!

deven. jason. jordan. :family:

i have the joy of knowing some the the funnest families families in durango… this family is right up there at the top of the list!  my first memory of meeting jason is one halloween a few years ago when he was the only parent not drinking the punch & sneaking candy from the kids buckets, he was playing hide-and-go-seek with all the kids.  deven was at a race out of town running the grand canyon, and probably winning her category at the very least!  so, when deven’s brother sent me an email asking to buy her a photo gift i was thrilled!  i sent off a surprise gift certificate & waited for a reply… deven was thrilled too!  way to go big brother!!!

i love to find out what makes a family tick… what they love to do together… deven & jason’s list was long!  they spend a lot of time together, they laugh a lot & make life really fun!  see…

deven. jason. jordan.- thank you for letting me follow you around for a while… i think i had as much fun as you all did!
